As NFCC Business Safety Week draws to a close for another year, we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight a few resources which may be useful going forward, for those who are looking to improve their fire safety:

  • NFCC website – Providing key resources for households, businesses and communities, the NFCC website navigates users towards ways in which they can make buildings safer and comply with current fire regulations. This includes risk assessment information, building regulations and additional information on COVID-19.
  • Fire safety guidelines for Scotland – Including information from the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, the Scottish Government lays out fire regulations for non-domestic buildings in Scotland. The aim of this resource is to help duty holders understand their responsibilities under fire safety law and plan ahead for how to achieve these.
  • BAFE website – Setting out the regulations currently in place, and providing signposts to further guidance on fire safety in Scotland.

Over the next few months, we will be working alongside our clients to improve fire safety in both commercial and residential buildings across Scotland. Follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter to keep up to date with progress and our work.

We carry out a range of services, including fire risk assessments, fire door installations, evacuation plans and more, through our highly-trained fire safety team. To find out more about how we can help you to improve your fire safety measures, take a look at the services on our Fire Safety webpage, or contact a member of our team at endfuelpoverty@m-four.org.
