What is the Energy Efficient Scotland scheme?

M-Four is working with local authorities to deliver ECO4 and EES:ABS — part of a major investment by the Scottish Government to help social housing residents and homeowners lower their carbon footprint and reduce fuel poverty.

Better for you, better for the environment.

If you live in a qualifying property, you could receive thousands of pounds worth of energy improvements at no cost to you. From air source heat pumps to high-spec wall insulation, these measures are designed to permanently lower the cost of heating your home.

The Scottish Government’s aim is for all Scottish homes to be as energy efficient as possible by 2045.

Questions residents often ask

No. If your home qualifies through the scheme, the survey and the installation of energy measures are provided at no cost to you.

If your home doesn't meet the current criteria, we'll keep your details on file (with your permission) and let you know if new funding or criteria become available.

The survey usually takes less than an hour. If improvements are approved, the installation time varies based on the measure — usually ranging from one to three days.

We work with high-quality accredited contractors who aim to keep disruption minimal. Some work (like insulation) is done externally, which means no indoor disruption at all.

Both private and social tenants can qualify. We handle the process of contacting and gaining the necessary permissions from your landlord/provider.
